Fabrication and installation of a kitchen designed for easier access for older adults, and for a more innovative, modern look in the apartment. The open volume was reorganized into a working kitchen with a bar, wine storage, and an open counter — a place to cook and to stay.

The challenge
A very large, undefined volume had to become a modern kitchen without losing how the home actually works. The width of the space needed a balanced plan that could order each zone and still give the kitchen a clear presence.

The solution
The kitchen was designed with the project architect, then materials and circulation were checked around every path through the room. Access heights, the bar, wine storage, and the open counter were resolved as one everyday sequence.

The result
The result is a fully working kitchen meant for time spent there — not only for cooking. Bar, wine storage, and the open counter give the room character and make it one of the central spaces of the house.
